Visited Bund'Up during a busy afternoon at Union Market. The service was friendly and fast, which I always appreciate. The food itself was decent, but the pricing felt high for what was offered. Charging $2 for a can of Sprite stood out as especially overpriced compared to other stalls. Overall, it’s convenient if you’re already in the area, but there are stronger value options in the market.
I had this catered for a New Year party and ordered three buns: fried chicken, Korean bulgogi, and pork belly. Unfortunately, none of them tasted authentic. The fried chicken portion was extremely small—about the size of two nuggets—and nearly half of it was just fried dough with a sweet-and-sour flavor. The pork belly was overly greasy, with about three-quarters fat and very little lean meat. The Korean BBQ was unexpectedly spicy, which was not indicated on the menu. At $12 for three buns, the quality was disappointing. Even as fusion food, the flavors were poorly executed and not enjoyable.
Got the tofu and mushroom buns to try here. I think they were alright but they tasted pretty similar because of the sauce choices. Wish they had more diverse flavors for their vegetarian choices, would love something with a bit more of a kick or some tanginess. They’re also not the most filling so I’m guessing you would need 4 for a full meal, in my case I got a smoothie from a different stall along with it.
A good option in Union Market. They've updated their pricing - they used to have a deal for 3 buns, but now it's 2 for $11. The spicy fried chicken isn't very spicy. The pork belly was good! It's a small operation and they're moving fast, so not a lot of interaction with customers.
I received food with visible mold on it, and the restaurant initially refused to refund me. I had to warn 20 other customers not to eat there before they finally agreed to send me my refund through Cash App. Completely unacceptable experience and unprofessional handling of a serious food safety issue.
