Bud's Chicken and Seafood

We LOVE Buds. There isn’t one anywhere near us, but anytime we head north for any reason, stopping at Buds is non-negotiable. The food is always fresh, the potato salad is incredible, the BBQ sauce is spot-on, and everything comes out hot and delicious. Honestly, I probably shouldn’t even be writing this review because I don’t want them getting any busier than they already are… but great food is great food, and Buds delivers every single time.

I get the seafood platter. Usually it's good and was today. But, they're serving less food and to off the scallops. I got 2 pieces of fish, 3 shrimp, and 2 conch fritters. The fritters we ok but not a good substitute for scallops. The chicken and are always good. The cold chicken if they have it, is an excellent deal. Your get 16 mixed pieces for $8. But, get there early, they go quick. Over all I would recommend this over KFC or Popeye's any day.

We pick up from Bud's several times a month. Last year my seafood platter (drive through) has hot grease that actually burned through the Styrofoam container and ruined the seat, carpet in my car, aa well as the jeans I had on. I went in to see the manager and was told, "we'll make you another"... it costs me $300+ to have cleaned. My wife started getting chicken dinners again and today I was willing to give it another try and had her pick up a seafood platter. Less shrimp, scallops and tiny pieces of shrimp. There were 2 hush puppies and 2 what resembled burned hushpuppies. So I took a taste of one to see. It tasted like it had paint thinner in it! It has been a long time since we have gone to Bud's. Great tasting seafood that really hit the spot at a fair price. 😋 The service was friendly and the restaurant was nice and clean. We're not going to wait as long to go back.
