Budapest Bistro

Tried out the The Budapest Bistro because our first choice restaurant was closed. So glad we did! Elizabeth is from Hungary and her food is like authentic home cooked meals. Very comforting and very delicious. 😋I had the Chicken Alfredo with seasoned rice and my wife had the Mushroom Paprika. The decor was welcoming, colorful and made me hungry to know more about Hungary. Neither of us had any previous exposure to Hungarian food, but after today, we'll be back for more!

Cute little restaurant operated by two lovely ladies that gives an intimate and authentic feeling. The recipes rotate daily, but there's generally two appetizers and three entres and sides to pick from. Homemade bread is provided. The inside is small and cute with various vintage decorations and seasonally rotating tablecloths. The bowls are just like my grandma had. The food is great and filling, not to mention things you can't normally find. Both staff are very friendly. The only issue is price. At $23-24, you'll pay more than any other regular restaurant for a limited amount of entre, although it's filling with the salad and potatoes, for example. It's all made in smaller batches and with local ingredients, so I don't doubt the quality or even cost, and they must be doing it right to

5 starts plus 500 more. I did not even leave a grain of rice on my plate. Had the potato paprika, cabbage roll and goulash soup. Nothing coming home. What a gem.

updates: We love the food here! Definitely worth the 3rd t and try it out! Would come back again! ! Previously If the goal for a restaurant is to not let customer still be hungry when they leave, Budapest bistro certainly failed. We have visited here for 2 times. First time: it says open online, but actually closed Second time: we called to make sure it is open. However, when we got there at 7pm, the waitress (without wearing mask) already said they don’t have any food left. 😃 That’s the first time I heard a restaurant doesn’t have food. Would I try again? Yes definitely. Cus I want to see how many times it takes to get me finally able to eat anything here. Never give up. Depends on how the food tastes, I might change the rating. To be continued…

Why doesn’t this restaurant have a line out the door? First time visiting and I could literally slap myself for not going sooner. INCREDIBLE flavors and super friendly service. We dined in, but take out is also available. Additionally, homemade desserts and other Hungarian & Central European sweets/snacks/condiments/wines and beer are readily available to purchase in display cases. Go check it out when you’re ready to experience food from the hands of a kitchen goddess. Kind of serious!
