Holy cow y'all, this place is amazing. Every single thing I tried was perfect. As someone only a little familiar to Puerto Rican food, this was a trust fall for me to order what my friend suggested. I had the one meat plate with the pernil, which is a stupid good slow roasted pork shoulder, their green beans (cooked with brisket), mofongo, (the best I've ever had), and lots of tostones with their guava sauce. Best meal I've had in ages. Highly recommend.
I'm here routinely for hotdogs/burgers on Tuesday evenings. They have the best hotdogs in San Antonio. They do pop ups around town every now and then and it's always amazing. The bbq that they serve on weekends while not traditional by any means is amazing fusion. The bbq can seem expensive but I routinely split plates and am full or have left overs, even if I didn't it's worth it. You have to try the pork belly and the mufungo my two favorite items on weekends. The staff are super nice and friendly!
Weenies & Tinis on Tuesday nights at Three Star with Bucán Rodeo always delivers. It's become part of my weekly routine because it's so good. They have their Basic B (ketchup & mustard) weenie but then also do off the wall and creative things like the East Village Dawg (PB & potato chips?!?! Whaaaat?!) or their more recent creation of El Guapo or even a weenie that has the flavors of a funnel cake! Its always changing so make sure you follow them on IG. And that's just the beginning. Prefer to visit on the weekends? Try their Puerto Rican Texas BBQ on Saturday & Sunday. I promise nothing will disappoint. Their food is always on point, never lacks sazón and you can tell is made with love.
I was so looking forward to this food truck, but I was disappointed. While the food was good, I only had one choice as a meal, and it was expensive ($25), for a small amount of rice, tostones, and pull pork, plus be aware, you may have to pay for parking. The pork serving was plenty. It was a bit spicy and tasty. The mayoketchup was delicious. Smokey and with a bit of warmth to it. I did not like the beans. In my opinion they did not have a lot of flavor. I wouldn't have ever ordered yucca, the beans or escabeche, and again, it was very disappointing I had no choice but to get it for the price. All in all, I would say to go once if you want to experience Puerto Rican food with a Texas twist, but I will likely not go again.
02/15/26 So many reasons why to GO!!! You won’t be disappointed. Both owners are down to earth, nice and welcoming, Food portions are great, Awesome flavor, best infusion of both cultures The BBQ sauce is a must, the guava makes it so good.
