Bucky's Cafe

A local mentioned this place so I had to check it out. Small diner that looks like it was a house converted. Little unassuming but don't be fooled. Looks like a house for a reason. Food is home cooking at its best. Ordered Chicken Fried Steak and asked small or large. Waitress said small was about the size of a dollar bill and Large was double that. It was well worth the extra buck. Fried potatoes with onions were amazing. Will be back soon.

If you find yourself in Caddo Mills and you aren't at Bucky’s, you’re basically doing Texas wrong. This place is the gold standard for "I can't breathe because I ate too much and I’m okay with it." First of all, let’s talk about the Monday Meatloaf Special. Listen, most people dread Mondays, but at Bucky’s, Monday is a national holiday. Their meatloaf isn't just "good"—it’s a life event. It’s thick, savory, and tastes like the chef gave it a pep talk before sending it out. If Meatloaf was a religion, I’d be sitting in the front pew every single Monday morning. Everything you would expect from a roadside diner. Service was capable, but could have been friendlier. I never learned my server's name and she was quite abrupt with me. The food, on the other hand, was delicious. The biscuit was soft and fluffy, pancake was huge, and the sausage and bacon were cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is quirky with a lot of metal signs. The building is a ranch style design. Three distinct rooms, one was closed. I was in on a Tuesday morning.

Food is always top notch. Servers always super busy. You have to be observant of the situation around you. Restaurants can never 100% predict when a rush is going to happen or employees call in. If you don't expect everyone in the world to treat you like royalty everywhere you go, you could be a much happier person. Thank you Bucky's fir another GREAT meal.... God bless you all....

This place is always amazing. I never have any issues. My food is always hot and we always get it fast. The service is great and they are always friendly and pleasant. It’s good cooking good portions and always great service.
