I had the Brisket plate, fried okra, and brunswick stew. Brisket was slightly greasy, not over fatty though. I prefer this way then dry. Okra was nice and hot, fried just right. The Brunswick stew was missing a tad bit of spice or flavor imo. I Did have to try the banana pudding. MY OPINION only, it was OK. I prefer real banana pieces, whipped cream in mine. Sauces were good. The Alabama sauce was my favorite, it was put together nicely.

Excellent flavor! I decided to go by this place for a pound of pulled pork to accompany my leftovers at home. I’m sure glad I did too! Great bbq with a nice smoke flavor and not too overbearing. I asked for some burnt ends in my pile and they hit the spot! I will be going back soon! Honestly, I didn’t even consider getting some bbq sauce but when I got home I had plenty in my bag and it was Yummy! Next time I’m going to sit down and enjoy some other delights. Found this place while on vacation in Georgia. Glad I was able to go there because it’s amazing. We were traveling with friends and everyone tried something. Literally everything we tried was fantastic. Pulled pork with sweet sauce was perfect, no fat. Chicken tenders are some of the best I’ve had. Sweet potato fries and tots are delicious. Baked beans and bread are perfection. It’s all a 5/5. Service is friendly and atmosphere is great. Has a down home feel, southern hospitality. Food is high quality. Truly a hidden gem.

First timer here! My hubby had the Big Ben. He said it was super greasy. He'd get it again but on untoasted bread. My brisket plate was awesome. I just think the portion size was small for the price. Super greasy as well, but good. Mac and cheese was bland. A little salt and pepper will change the game. Collards were meh. Maybe a pinch of sugar will cut the bitterness. Service was fast, friendly and courteous. We will likely try again. Not sure. The sweet and spicy sauce was AWESOME!

Since they've been open, I've been coming here often! Their food is THE best (personal fav is the pulled pork salad), their staff is very attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is great. Love me some Buckalews.
