Bubba Gumbo’s

I walked into Bubba Gumbo’s after a disappointing dining experience elsewhere and ended up having some of the best shrimp of my life! The hot honey with ranch sauce was amazing. The service was fun, upbeat, and most importantly helpful. The views were nice too. My only complaint is regarding the corn. It was soggy and flavorless. And based on the rest of my experience, I believe bubba can do better!! See y’all on my next trip!

There are a bunch of seafood restaurants that are pretty darn good on Tybee Island, but Bubba Gumbo’s is for the discerning foodie. The restaurant rises above and exceeds all expectations for fresh seafood. Their menu features local, sustainable fresh catch, not the novelty beach fare that comes frozen in trucks. Their seafood is delivered by small fishing vessels to the dock every day, straight from the creeks and waterways off the coast of Tybee Island. The restaurant manager can be seen prepping a variety of species unloaded by local fishermen. If you haven’t eaten here, you haven’t experienced fresh fresh.

We had a great meal at Bubba Gumbo's! Don’t let the marina location fool you — it’s absolutely worth finding. Just follow the signs and you’ll get there. Bella took wonderful care of us, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. And whatever you do… don’t skip dessert!!

Bubba Gumbo’s is amazing! I rarely write reviews but the service was awesome, the food was amazing, and the hush puppies + gumbo were phenomenal! I cannot recommend it enough!

When bars were bars, this place is about as authentic as you can get. Food was outstanding! I typically do not like hushpuppies but I could have eaten the whole basket! You could tell the seafood was local and fresh. Will definitely return!
