Brunzeez Cafe

Delicious food, lots of friendly locals and homemade pie! I ordered fried catfish and bluegill, with a baked potato, and mashed potatoes. Hearty portions on the fish and it was fried to perfection. I knew I'd keep half to eat the next day and for $15 these days that's a deal for two meals. I was too hungry to take photos before, but did get two pieces of pie to go since I couldn't decide between strawberry rhubarb and coconut creme. We'll be back again soon.

Tried them for the first time today. Mushrooms were delicious. We got nachos supreme, fried ravioli and mild boneless wings. The wings were to sweet for my liking. I was looking for more of that vinegar kick! Overall good place to eat.

05/25/2024 Updated Great service, good food as always. Today I had one of the specials, Country Fried Beef , Mashed Potatoes with White Gravy and Corn. We split an order of their Fried Mushrooms which are amazing .. 01/27/2024 Our waitress was an absolute delight. Very friendly, the service was fantastic. A great small town restaurant with a hometown feel. The hand breaded fried mushrooms are deliciously perfect and came with the house ranch for dipping. I will say they are the best fried mushrooms I have ever gotten from a restaurant. Pictured is a full order, I could not finish them all so brought some home for later. I decided on the 8oz hand pattied hamburger which came on a buttered and grilled bun. All of which was cooked to perfection. This place is a southern Illinois gem. I a

Had the pleasure of enjoying this great eatery. The staff and food were high quality. Recommend if you're in the area, it's a must try. I definitely will go out of my way for another meal here. Would give it a 10 star if it'd let me.

Quickly prepared. Generous portions. Freshly made hash browns. Large, delicious, home-made biscuits. Excellent gravy. Could not believe that there were homemade turnovers, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls with fresh bacon bits! There were pies and cakes displayed in the pantry! I just stopped by for breakfast. This will have to be on my saved destinations list, even if its a bit off my path. The ladies there were SO sweet, too!
