This place is a hidden gem. It's in a converted diner car, right in Route 1 north in Brunswick (just before Bowdoin College). They seem to have been in business for several decades and it's easy to see why. Lots of selections, substantial portions, and good quality. We ordered eggs benedict with crab meat (very good), and stuffed french toast with wild blueberries (excellent). Service was friendly and very good. Had to wait a few minutes for a booth, even at mid morning on a week day. Parking seems adequate. We'll definitely make a return trip!
Nice roadside diner with Maine fare favorites. Fun menu. A bit of a wait on a Saturday morning (<15 minutes). Outside seating is comfortable but be aware- there are yellow jackets that love the table syrup. I had the corned beef hash and it was good. My son had the lobster omelette- fresh ingredients, good amount of lobster and not over-charged. The cinnamon bread was nice as well. The breakfast potatoes were straight from the freezer to fryer and were more of a distraction than a filler. Too bad, as the food could have been 5 stars if they were good. Coffee was ok and hot tea option is Lipton. Jams and jellies are all corn syrup prepackaged and don’t forget to ask for butter for your toast. Tipping is now a tax and not about service. They will ask you how much you want to tip. Is what
This was our first stop in the Portland area ands I’m so glad we stopped. Such a cute place and the service was great! The food was hot and arrived pretty quick. We had spent a few days in the Bar Harbor area and we were pretty relieved to see the great prices for these meals. Very reasonable for the amount of food. There’s an adorable personal element to this diner…. there must be a hundred coffee cups hanging around the diner. We were told that these belong to the locals who frequent the diner. They get their own cup when they come in. How sweet is that!! 😊
Came here twice during my stay in Brunswick for breakfast. It's a favorite of my folks. I had the Sinatra --two eggs, toast and a delicious brisket hash--both times I was there. ... Quite possibly my new favorite hash as I can't remember one better. My eggs came out just the way I like them, and they offer nice, thick slices of fresh toast. The atmosphere is that of a bustling dinner, including locals with their mugs on the wall, and jukeboxes on all the tables. Waitresse were friendly, but service was a little slow one of the days (but well worth the wait). Most of the menu prices are reasonable and the coffee (standard dinner style) was a steal compared to most places. Definitely plan to make this a regular stop during my visits to Brunswick. (Note: Ratings are based on my expectation
Looks can be deceiving but this place was so welcoming & delicious !!! If you pass by this place - you have to stop!!!! Best meal I’ve had in a longtime
