Brooks Sandwich House

We visited last week and it was our first time. First, we did not realize they only take only cash, so we had to use the ATM on site with a $2.50 service fee. The atmosphere of the restaurant is no inside area, they have no outdoor tables and chairs outside just a long table to stand at. So, truly you need to take it to go or eat in your car. It was a cold day so that worked out well. Service was good! The food was just average. We each got a cheeseburger and that really had no flavor. The hot dog was good, but kind of in the smaller side. The cheese fries were good but they over salted the fries. We drove here from Matthews to try this place and glad we did, but would not drive this far again for this restaurant.

Finally made it to Brooks’ Sandwich House - it’s been on my Charlotte food list forever thanks to all the rave reviews, and I’m so glad I went. The cheeseburger was the absolute standout for me - juicy, flavorful, and just classic in the best way. I also tried the chili cheese fries since they’re kind of famous for their chili. The chili and cheese were solid, but full transparency - I’m not really a potato wedge person, so that part didn’t hit for me. Totally my fault for ordering something I don’t usually vibe with, but I wanted to give it a shot. Heads up - there’s no seating, just a standing-height wooden picnic table if you want to eat on-site. I ended up grabbing tea nearby and eating there since it had that outdoor picnic feel. My first time to Brooks Sandwich House. I've been meaning to visit for some time. With all of the recent news coverage surrounding it, I wanted come come and show my support. Super yummy. It is like stepping back to some of the little places my dad would take me to eat at as a kid. Note that they only take cash, but there is an ATM on site.

Overrated. Burgers are dry and overcooked. They'll charge you 16.50 for a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Definitely not worth the money. Not sure why this place has high ratings. Eating here 1 time is 1 time too much.

No atmosphere. You order and pick up at a window. The cheeseburger was good. The chili is fantastic, but everything else just bland. Fries were potato wedges that needed to be cooked a bit longer. Also, when I order a burger all the way, I expect chili, mustard, slaw and onions. They don't have slaw. Big disappointment.
