Brooklyn Public Library - Macon Branch

Its a nice library though it is very noisy. A lot of the time I have to put my headphones in just to focus on my school work...I remember there being a low volume requirement a few years ago. Libraries are supposed to be spaces where EVERYONE can focus and work or read quietly. They should definitely have the mothers with infants and younger children on a different floor or in a separate room especially because they breastfeed.

Ran into here thirty minutes to close in a pinch to print documents to submit in person to HRA, never have been to the library before. The librarian was super helpful in getting me set up with a library card just in time to print my documents before they closed. This is community :)

QUIET IS NOT implemented in this library. 4 adults laughing not reading but gossiping & laughing, nannies on the other side yelling- its horrifying that the librarian doesn't say, "Please lower your voices." No respect at all for the library. I would come here 37 years ago and my mom said "shhhh" and we still had a ball and didnt disturb the other side--- and never in my life have I ever experienced a noisy library! Welcome to 2025...I miss the old Macon!

Relatively quiet and well organized. Staff members are quick to help. I needed to use a computer and I simply need to print out a guest pass which takes a second to get login details.

I love this Library my little safe Haven anytime i am having a bad day, i really love how there are so many books written by black and women authors in this location. very clean and organized too. Ms.Leila as well is a Gem and sweetie when it comes to asking for help and assistance.
