They were out of dosa when I walked in, but I asked if they could check, and they kindly managed to make one for me. As a South Indian from Karnataka, I can confidently say this was one of the best Ghee Masala Dosas I’ve had on the East Coast. The owner came over and mentioned that they source ingredients from Karnataka — and after tasting it, I believe it. The mutton haleem was really good too. Overall, very satisfied.
One of my favorite spots in the city for authentic Bangalore-style dosas! The masala dosa at Brooklyn Curry Project is easily one of the best I’ve had perfectly crisp with a delicious filling. One weekend they even served Davanagere benne dosa, which was such a treat and brought back so many memories. I also love their thatte idly, and the mini idly with Bangalore-style sambar is my absolute favorite so comforting and flavorful. Their chai is also a must-try. The masala chai is honestly some of the best in the city, and the shunti (ginger) chai is my personal favorite. They pop up every Saturday at Nimbus Kitchen in Downtown Brooklyn, and it’s definitely worth stopping by if you’re craving great Bangalore-style dosas and authentic chai. A true gem in the city!
Like pizza there are different styles and varieties of dosa. Getting this style of dosa is rare in the NYC and long island area. Trust me. It's where I've been resting since growing up around this two area and from someone who ranks Dosa as their top 5 favorite foods. The staff/family were very nice and generous. I asked them loads of questions and were happy to share their stories with me (thank you again for letting me try a bite of dessert). Great to see your progress and rooting for your success!
Me and my girlfriend tried the masala dosa and mini idly. Ut was so delicious and highly recommended for everyone best place during saturdays to visit .
Everyone needs to check this spot out at least once if you’re living in Brooklyn. The masala Dosas are incredible, very crispy, perfect thickness, and Chef Venkat puts so much concentration and passion into every single dosa he makes. Truly incredible. My pro tip to ALL of you is to order Mini Idlis and Sambhar, use the Sambhar to dip with the EXCELLENT Masala Dosas and chutney. I was very impressed with the Sambhar, it really does make a world of difference when it’s paired with the masala dosa. The mini idlis were excellent as well. I couldn’t even take pictures of the food. The Brooklyn Curry Project will have a long line. Arrive early and be prepared to wait in line. 100% worth the wait though.
