Great beer and solid German comfort dishes. Don’t usually crave German food, but had to stop by for their “Oktoberfest”. I was expecting most of the food to be a little one-dimensional, but this place had enough personality in its cooking to keep me interested. For the Oktoberfest setup, all the servers were in trachts and the place was decked out with festive décor. We came in for an early dinner, so it wasn’t packed yet, but it had that cozy German tavern energy. Since Jacob Wirth closed, this is the only German spot I know in the area, so it felt refreshing to walk into something different. Beer-wise, they had a few interesting German selections you don’t typically see in pubs. The draft we ordered was light, crisp, and easy to drink (clean finish without the lingering bitterness). F
We went to Bronwyn on a Sunday. The place was busy! The ambience was nice. It can get a little tight in terms of spacing between tables, so be aware. I got the mulled wine. It was fabulous. The best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend especially on a cold evening. We got the pierogis and the schnitzel. The food was very tasty. Overall, it was good time.
- Schnitzel was excellent; large and crispy with a nice side of potatoes. - Beer is a little pricey, but good quality - I really like the ambiance; definitely a place I would return to for German food in Boston
Enjoyed a meal in the biergarten on a warm Summer night. Bronwyn has an amazing atmosphere and the decorations really make it feel welcoming. The service was great and we were able to be seated at a table instantly. Menus are small but focus on their specialty items. The beer flights and cocktails are the best part of this restaurant. They are inventive and give you a chance to try something new. During this visit we decided to share a few apps. The Plaky was the clear stand out. The flavors of the creme fraiche, smoked salmon, and potato blended perfectly and we left craving more. Unfortunately, the Urnebes was a disappointment. The dip was clunky and hard to pick up and needed a bit more cream to be classified as a dip. Overall, while we enjoyed trying a new restaurant we are unsure if
Wasn’t exactly certain what I was getting myself into as German food seemed like a fun adventure with uncertain outcome. But wow was it great. Menu is fun and different than you might find in a restaurant that serves similar fare. Yet this place is a terrific series of dishes and a vacation for your palette. Best items - the sausage trio, the burgers were great (try ordering them medium if you can), the sauerkraut, those roasted potatoes - the whole thing. Definitely worth trying!!
