BrierHouse Bed and Breakfast

Secluded, yet only 15 minutes from the square in Granbury, this little hideaway is a true gem. We stayed in the two bedroom overlooking the pond. It was calm and serene with nothing but the sound of the fountains and birds chirping. You could just stay here all day and nap and read if you wanted, but you could also go hiking, fish in the pond and bird watch. There was a paddle boat that we didn't get to use. Yes, the pond is stocked full of catfish and if you don’t catch something, you’re just not trying. Sunday morning is a treat to watch Jerry come over and feed the fish. I've stayed at the 3-bedroom house at BrierHouse 3 times. Every time I'm there, I'm reminded of what a cozy and serene place it is. It's out in the country, about 10-15 minutes from Granbury, but it's well worth the short drive in. I'm often there on girls' trips or with family, and it's hard to beat the room we have in this place. There's a lot of seating in the living room and kitchen for everyone to hang out and have their breakfast, and every amenity you'd need is included. Sharon's breakfasts are to die for - we've had such delicacies as poached pears, caramel french toast, churros, glazed ham, and a variety of fruits. She's a wonderful hostess and always has some baked good awaiting us on our arrival too. I highly recommend this B&B.

The Brierhouse Bed and Breakfast is located in Tolar, TX which is minutes from Granbury, TX (tons of antique shopping, etc).||It is secluded - the owners own a home on the same land but cannot see you for all the trees. It is so quiet and peaceful. The owner does bring you a gourmet breakfast each morning that she cooks herself at the time you designate. She sets it up and leaves you alone.||You have books, movies, puzzles, and an entire home to yourself. It is excellent for a couple's getaway or for a family/group of friends.|
