About 20 years ago this spot was home to a place called Harry O's, where a French guy named Fred produced some of the most ridiculously good bread and pastries in all of Northern Virginia. When that place disappeared, it left a carb-shaped hole in the universe that many people didn’t even realize they were grieving. Enter Bread Me… quietly stepping in to fill a void most folks didn’t know they had. Stopped in for coffee and a quick bite and immediately realized this is not just a “grab something and go” kind of place. The coffee was smooth and rich, exactly what you want when caffeine is less of a luxury and more of a survival requirement. Grabbed a café mocha for a friend and it disappeared with the speed and satisfaction of something done very, very right. Now let’s talk pastries, or
This place has PERFECT bread. It’s so soft and there’s plenty of flavors to choose from. The blueberry and mango bread is yummy! I also got the pineapple mango slush with brown sugar boba added. The chicken pesto sandwich is a go-to and for a sweet treat, I recommend the salted caramel sandwich.
Many options for lunch, breakfast, and drinks, including lattes and boba! The sandwiches are good. My favorite is the bulgogi and turkey pesto. For breakfast, egg cusion and smoked salmon are my go-to. The wait can take 10 minutes, depending on how many customers they have. The staff are friendly and keep the place clean. It is expensive, but for the area, it’s one of the best places on base!
I recently visited Bread Me and was pleasantly surprised by this hidden little spot. The waffle pastry I ordered was impressively fresh, topped with a generous amount of fresh-cut fruit that added a delightful burst of flavor. I opted for the spicy ramen with beef, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were well-balanced, and the beef was tender, making it a great go to pick for ramen lovers. However, the iced coffee fell a bit short of my expectations. It was decent but lacked the richness I usually look for. On a brighter note, they offer a variety of smoothies that I’m eager to try on my next visit. Overall, Bread Me is a charming spot worth trying. With its fresh offerings and promising menu, it's a place I'd recommend for people to try
The flavored buns are awesome. My family especially like the mango buns. The croffle berry cream is to die for. The only fault I find was with the Reuben paninni. Bread was good, I think I got less than 2oz of meat, a smear of dressing and maybe a tablespoon of saurekraut. Nothing to write home about. Won't be getting it again. Chai tea is very good too.
