Bread & Butter Diner

Old school diner with a modern feel to some of their dishes. The place is cash or venmo and it's much bigger than it appears from the outside. Look for the specials on the chalkboard, I didn't notice until after I had ordered my food. The staff, super friendly and made us feel welcomed. The chicken and waffles, delicious. The chicken batter was light and had a pleasant taste. The steak tips, delicious. The beef was tender and the tips had enough sauce so you could taste it. The one dish I would go back for is the corn beef hash? ... I have never seen it prepared that way and it was absolutely delicious, almost ordered one to go it was that good

I have realized I use the expression "hidden gem" too much in my reviews of great undiscovered places, but.. y'know... Hidden Gem, this place is. A classic expanded dining car with all the expecteds, great full breakfast menu, bottomless coffee, friendly and energetic staff. But there a lot of special gourmet touches here. We had lunch on our visit and the chicken sandwich was fresh, generously sized, and seasoned with herbs and butter. My dining companion had the tuna and found it to be equally good and freshly made. We will be back for the breakfast menu soon, which by all signs seems to include many great delicious dishes as well.

I’ve driven by this place countless times and always wondered how the food was. Seems like I’ve been missing out. We got the homemade hash, chicken & waffles and the burrito bowl. Nobody left hungry. Flavors were all on point and the wait staff was really good. Only complaint would be that they normally serve the amazing looking chicken & waffles with cheap syrup.

Absolutely recommend Bread & Butter Diner. The poutine was incredible and so was the French toast. Service was excellent!! Will definitely be back when in the area. Bring cash or Venmo, worth it!!!

Wow! I'm a fresh fruit and veggie snob, which leads to a lot of disappointment in New England in the winter. Not today! Everything, from the berries, to avacado where perfectly ripe. I had the veggie breakfast burrito and it was full of incredible flavor and cooked to perfection. There house made hot sauce is killer. You've got to try the Portuguese custard! The cook and server were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Two of us dined with shared dessert and the bill was just shy of $30.
