One thing I am most grateful for about living in SOFLO is, naturally, the tropical weather; secondly, the abundance of excellent restaurants conveniently located everywhere around me—from simple mom-and-pop venues, to diners, to trendy chains, to upscale restaurants. Sometimes, if one dares to try a small, seemingly insignificant restaurant tucked away in an obscure strip plaza off the major highways, one may discover a true diamond in the rough. Last Friday, I found that diamond. The restaurant is named Bravo, located at the entrance of Wilton Manors on 6th Avenue (2926 7th Ave., Wilton Manors—just about 1,500 feet south of Oakland Park Blvd.). Driving by, one might think it is a sleazy strip plaza. Anyway, a friend suggested that our group of foodies go there because he had been before

Came here for grilled octopus, and it didn’t disappoint! Very tender & tasty. The best we had in the US! Emily was a pro: friendly, attentive, and her stewed beef recommendation was spot-on: fall-apart tender, richly spiced and balanced with beans and white rice. Solid value, great portions. 5/5—returning soon!

I came to Bravo to have lunch. I was seated and 5 servers ignored me. NOTE: everyone else Latin im the only American Black. No one offered me water. I sat patiently for 15 minutes. A young lady name EMILY that worked the opposite side saw me being ignored and approached me and ask me can she please assit me and ask me would i like something to drink I told her it bothers me be ignored being that im seated and have made eye contact with all the servers and its not busy why would they not help me. Emily went above and beyond brining me my red wind and fish rice potatoes and calamari with brown sauce and cheese cake. The food was outstanding and I Gave Emily a $30.00 tip. The advice i would off this establishment DONT JUDGE ME BY MY SKIN BECAUSE MY MONEY SIT INSIDE A LEATHER WALLET. Bl

Bravo was a good experience. The food was definitely enjoyable and tasty, and the drinks like the passion fruit and eucalyptus PISCO were really worth trying. Our server Rafael was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Just a heads-up: arriving close to closing time (we came at 9:10 p.m. and they close at 10 p.m.) meant the host seemed a bit ready to wrap up. So for a more relaxed vibe, I’d recommend going a bit earlier.

4 stars – Amazing octopus 🐙, friendly service, but some details fell short My girlfriend and I drove from Miami looking for something different and chose Bravo because we love Peruvian food—especially octopus. At first, service was slow and they forgot some sauces and lime we asked for. Luckily, Stephanie (our server) noticed and, with help from the super friendly bussers, turned things around. The sangria wasn’t what we expected—it lacked flavor. The ceviche was also underwhelming: the seafood didn’t seem fresh, and the fish pieces were way too big. BUT… the octopus was next level. Seriously, it was so good I ordered another one with extra potatoes. 🥔 It was so phenomenal we even sent a cash tip directly to the chef who prepared it. Dessert was solid (4 stars), and the place has potent
