Boxcar Cafe and Bakery

I freakin love this place!!! All the baked goods & pizza dough are made by Lisa from scratch (omg the cookies 🤤), & Mark makes amazing pizza (omg the sauce from scratch 🤤🤩🤤) & sandwiches with fresh ingredients he buys daily (also his daughter works there sometimes and they are adorkable!); they clearly love what they do, and you can taste it! And everything else inside is Michigan-made too (get a pop!) 💙 If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Here are some pics from my last couple times there; food so good, gets eaten before we can document it!

Ordered a carrot cake, even requested organic carrots, which they happily obliged. The cake was phenomenal! The cream cheese frosting was not overly sweet, the density was perfect, flavors well balanced. Better than Grandmas. We've also tried their pumpkin cheesecake, Danish, pizza and ice cream... all of it A+. Inside the cafe is a boutique filled with high quality items such as honey, skin creams and nic/nacks. The pizza is absolutely to die for. Fresh ingredients, from scratch pizza dough, and cooked to perfection! Cookies, brownies, cupcakes and the cakes are all amazingly good. Cake is always perfectly decorated and tastes amazing. I get all my cakes, cupcakes and rolls from The Boxcar! These are just some of the Amazing Cakes that have been done for us by Lisa!

I have to say, I have tried several different Pizza Parlors/ Restaurants the Chicken Bacon Ranch is the best ! The Panini Sandwiches are on Homemade Bread, the flavor with there homemade pesto sauce is Devine!!

Best pizza this side of Mississippi. Fast friendly service. If they don’t have it on the menu just ask them, chances are if they have what it takes to make it they will. The baked goods are made with extra love and you can taste it. We will visit here every time we are in the area.
