Boone County Public Library - Main Library

We’re relatively new to the area and big fans of libraries, so one of our first stops was the Boone County Public Library Main Branch on Burlington Pike. After getting our library cards, we were blown away by everything they offer—especially the Innovation Lab. As part of preparing for our upcoming wedding, we’ve been using the Glowforge laser cutter to create personalized gifts for our guests. I could have bought similar items on Etsy, but making them ourselves was not only more meaningful—it also saved a lot of money. The fact that this kind of technology is available for free to library cardholders is incredible. We brought our own wood, but the library also sells materials if you need them. Beautiful building with courteous staff. Senior center room, student learning center, large children's section on 2nd floor. Also showcase artwork from county schools and other areas of the arts. If you want to start, or add to your collection, they also have on sale books, cds, etc at very affordable prices, .50 / $1.

Great library for littles! Huge children's area with tons of activities that will keep them busy for hours. The sensory room is nice and the lights are adjustable to set a calming atmosphere. The hammock swing is very soothing. They also have a jump pad which is good for getting out some energy. They have a bubble light that can change colors as well as a projector. My tot often asks to use the sensory room. The staff and librarians are very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic library. The children’s area was amazing - great selection of books for all ages, and areas for my little one to play and run.

I'm lucky to have this as my local library. It's such a great location with super friendly staff. Their used books for sale section is always great for finding things. I got 12 graphic novels for 6 bucks which is a steal and a half. Support your local libraries!
