As we entered the restaurant and unkempt person I cannot say really greeted us. It was more like he came over and said, "Yeah, how many?" He led us over to the portion of the restaurant that was filthy and dirty. There was food all over the floor, and he directed us to sit next to tables that needed to be cleared off and cleaned. I will say that our waitress, Kaylie, was very personal and friendly. The food was also very tasty. So, overall, the question is, will I return to this restaurant. Not any time soon.

Had a very eh kind of experience here then came back a few days later with my family early Monday morning and wow what a difference. The staff that day was the best ive ever seen, super friendly and helpful.. The cook even came out, greeted us, and helped the waitress bring out our food. The food was even different from days prior you could just tell by looking at our plates that it was prepared with care and appearance in mind.. Highly recommend going on that shift.

I was extremely disappointed by the lack of cleanliness during my visit. The coffee cups, silverware, orange juice glass, and water glasses all had visible residue on them and looked filthy. This is totally unacceptable for any restaurant. When I asked the waitress for clean replacements, I was told, “Oh, this is how everything is.” I regularly dine at restaurants all over Battle Creek, and none of them have these kinds of sanitation issues. I reached out to the corporate office, and they sent me a $10 gift card. I have no interest in using it, as I will not be returning. I would much rather see that money—and more—invested into properly fixing the cleanliness and sanitation problems. For an iconic restaurant, this is a complete failure. I will never be back.

Food cooked by manager Franklin was best we have had there. On top of that he came out from behind the grill line and talked and checked on tables. Further more he also cashed us out when leaving. 5 stars are not enough for what he does.
