First time trying the food here. Tonight was take out only. I ordered the blackened catfish jambalaya. It was pretty good. Foot kick, flavorful. The jambalaya had chicken and sausage in it. Portion size was big enough to share. The fish was a good portion too. Also came with a side salad and a piece of bread. Had the fried gator platter (served with two sides) as well. For appetizers had the fried green tomatoes with crab meat and an order of fried gator bites. The fried green tomatoes were great! All of this food was only $60! Great price for all of the food we received. I would love to return and dine in. I came back to dine in and the food was AMAZING again!!! I ordered the ultimate gumbo and the bread pudding!

The food was good. The service was good. I have no complaints. It's just not what I remember. When I visited this place a few years ago, I was blown away! The food was excellent, the service was AMAZING (the young lady who was our server said amaaaaazing all of the time), and the place had a vibe to it. I couldn't explain the vibe, but it had one. I visited a few days ago and instantly noticed a change in the atmosphere. We were seated, and the server was nice. We placed our order, and it arrived promptly and was still hot. The food was good, but it just didn't have that WOW factor that I remember. Please do not misunderstand this review. There was Absolutely NOTHING Wrong, and I highly recommend the food. It just was not the same.

I called at 7:30 to make sure they didn’t close at 8 because i hate being that person. The lady who answered the phone was extremely nice and polite. They are open til 9 so i went. I ordered the gumbo and the gator PoBoy and they were phenomenal!!! If you have never been here you are missing out!!

I’m guessing they may have changed the name of the restaurant a little bit it says something about African express so I was kind of confused at first. I thought it was like a african type restaurant instead of the place it had been in the past, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think they just had to change the name . Have been missing this restaurant for several years since it has been closed and just reopened not too long ago! Got the catfish platter with the seafood, gumbo and fried okra. All were very good. The catfish was just a little bit overcooked for me but still tasted awesome, and the gumbo is really delicious. The only thing that was questionable for me was the knowledge of the server and asking too many questions you could tell they weren’t very happy with that. Reasonable pri

Drove 3 hours to the area for an event and decided to give this place a try. So glad I did! Service was pleasant and friendly. Food was fresh, cooked to order and flavorful. Portions…enough for me to eat from 3x! Plenty for such great prices and love the ability to mix and match your order and the options for sides. Unfortunately I didn’t get pics but my party tried a variety of the fried seafood (oysters, shrimp, crawfish), fried green tomatoes, okra, and the ultimate gumbo. Everything was delicious! Even the homemade sauces were excellent (cocktail, tartar, jubilee). So much more I want to try on the menu and I hear the desserts are great too…I’ll definitely be returning sooner than later.
