Blue Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar

Visited on a Tuesday evening and it wasn’t busy. The food was fantastic — we had the seafood boil with snow crab legs, shrimp, and mussels in the signature sauce (medium heat), and it was delicious. Service was a bit slow and we had to flag our server for refills, and one item didn’t come out with the meal, but everything was fixed when we asked. The dining room was also pretty cold that night. Overall, great food and a place I’d definitely return to — just a few small service and comfort issues kept it from five stars.

The other day was my first visit to Blue Hook. I wasn't expecting much because the reviews I read awhile back when they first opened were far from stellar. But let me just say I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a basic seafood boil that consisted of shrimp and sausage along with a boiled egg and a potato. From what's on my plate, it doesn't look like much but in reality it was really filling. They offer a number of sauces which I went with a Cajun type one. It was pretty basic and mild. But that doesn't mean it lacked flavor. The shrimp you had to peel and the sausage was actually pretty decent. Anyways, all in all, I really enjoyed what I received and I wouldn't mind coming back someday and trying something else.

If I could give less than one star I would. A group of 12 went in with me. We were excited to celebrate my nephew making it to State. The place was empty. My 15yr old daughter went in first saying there was 12, she looked at her as if she was dumb and didn’t acknowledge her. She came out saying she was rude. We over looked it. Then my older sister said yes there is 12. She replied “Did you guys make a reservation?” (As if the place needed it.) There was a little water toy at the front that my 8yr old asked if he could get. I said yes. So I started to take it off to buy it so he could play with it while we eat. She said “those aren’t free. But if you make a 5 star review you can get it for free!” I said “ok awesome” then she says “yea bc they aren’t free!” I said okay I was going to pay for

We had a large party tonight and everything was impeccable. Very delicious food. Atmosphere relaxing. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and all our needs were met. Service was really good too. They had live music who was attentive to our celebration and sang a song for us. It was a great experience from the call to book the party to the last person leaving.
