Blue Door Cafe

This place is fantastic - especially for Portola! Came with family and between all our food we were incredibly impressed. The BLT bread was perfectly grilled and bacon was good and crispy. The taco salad had a ton of flavor, and the grilled chicken sandwich had a whole chicken breast and wasn't too dry. The service was really good and everyone was super friendly, and the restaurant was clean and modern. We'll certainly be back for breakfast and the pastries when we are back in the area!

If you haven’t been, you should feel VERY left out. Blue Door stands out with service, quality, and timeliness. Our waitress, Melinda was exceptional, quick, friendly, and quite frankly, the best! The BLT, Thanksgiving Sandwich, and Chinese Chicken Salad were one for the books. They also have great size portions, great coffee and pastries! If they were open for dinner, we would come back tonight. RUN, don’t walk to Blue Door. You won’t regret it. Thank you again Melinda and staff for an exceptional lunch, and for a welcoming place to enjoy a great meal centrally located in Portola.

Great food. You can get grilled chicken instead of fried chicken if you ask. They go a bit heavier on the sauce across the dishes, so ask for lighter sauce if you prefer things lighter. We’ll be back next time we are in town.

I’ve been here three times and each time the meals were exceptional. The server Melinda is friendly efficient and very good at her job. I’ve had lunch and breakfast and the meals were equally satisfying. Would recommend definitely.

The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the café was so clean (every window sill, knick knack, air vent, etc. was dust free)! You can tell they take pride in every part of their business.
