Didn't know what to expect... great place to stop for lunch...very much a blast from the past small town feel. Just enough offerings and a great small ayce soup and salad bar with the typical Montana offerings like beets, cucumbers, sunflower seeds and cranberries and at least 5 dressing options. Soup was a creamy potato bacon with a light chowder taste, not too heavy. Server was friendly and quick to get drinks. Cute decor, clean and relatively bright for an older building space. Will come back!
I ordered the steak fingers, what I got was chunks of gristle and sinew that were dropped in hot oil. The center of these "steak fingers" we're absolutely raw and cold. I also ordered salad bar, it would have been fairly good if it wasn't full of breeding black flies. The wait staff was very understanding and offered to swap out the food. I had had enough at that point and did not want to eat anything else that was cooked in that kitchen. I would not recommend this restaurant based on what I had.
I really enjoy the Blue Anchor Bar & Cafe. Their food is consistently great, and the cold beer on tap is always refreshing. The service is friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasant experience. Favorites on the menu are the steak sandwich, steak fingers, and burgers. I also enjoy their salad bar -- it’s fresh, well-stocked, and a perfect complement to any meal. The Blue Anchor has consistent hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner which makes it easy to plan a visit. Whether stopping in for a quick meal or spending time with friends, the Blue Anchor is a reliable, community-minded spot with great food and service.
My husband and I went there on a Sunday looking for a Bloody Mary, passing through on our way to somewhere else. Went in through the back door, right into the bar. No customers or servers in the bar so we walked into the restaurant area and ask the hostess if the bar was open..."not ever on Sundays" (like we should know better", but she would make us a drink in the restaurant. We sit down at a table and are given menus. We ask for two Bloody Mary's and two waters. Bloody Mary's arrive and are perfect. Husband orders a chicken fried steak meal and repeats that we want waters. About 10 minutes later a beautiful plate of chicken fried steak gets thrown down on the table and before either of us could blink, she was gone. As she sped away I try for the third time to ask for water. She never ac
What a wonderful experience. Allowed to have both breakfast and lunch. I ordered a side of bacon; 5 pieces for $3.50 and cooked perfect! Their salad bar was exceptional for a small Cafe, would be better with some fruit. Service was great.
