Blue 42s Burger Bar

We were recommended by a waitress in Countryside BBQ to come here for wings. She was absolutely right. Best wings we’ve had in a while. We also ordered Yolksef Burger Bowl (watching carbs) and upgraded to the house salad as side. Salad was way bigger than we were anticipating. My husband ordered the 1/2 pound brisket with a side salad as well. Our waitress, Julia, was outstanding, quick, helpful and delightful. Thank you Julia. 😁 Would definitely recommend this place to everyone and the prices weren’t bad either. Great find in Morganton.

Stopped in on a Wednesday late afternoon based on reviews. I sat at the bar as this is a tiny eatery with few tables. As a single diner, I didn't want to take up space at a 4-top. This is a popular place. I didn't know until after I ordered but it was Wing Wednesday and wings were 50 cents each. There were many rubs and sauces to choose from. I missed out on those. (Psst, staff, tell your diners!) I started with some Mac n cheese bites and they did not disappoint. Yummy! I followed with a Texan burger and onion rings. The burger was perfectly prepped. The onion rings were OK, but not memorable. Service was spot on in this busy place. You'll be lucky to find a parking spot, and I was. Hit or Miss but has some Consistent Classics. I’ve been to Blue 42 about 5 times, and you either really love it or walk out disappointed. Personally I like The Texan, The Carolina Blue and The Heat. I prefer the sweet potato fries over their regular, tho they can sometimes be soggy spending on the day… Service wise, it can take quite a while to get your food - regardless of party size. That can get pretty annoying especially if the food comes and it’s slightly above average. I accidentally stumbled upon their wings and fell in love with their House sauce. If you want something consistently good, their wings are phenomenal. The atmosphere inside is great, a little on the smaller size - but intimate. I just wish there was better seating outside. This place is kind da small but definitely worth trying! Their burgers were fresh! Just like at home on the grill. My daughter had the cheesehead and it was so very cheesy!! I had the Hawaiian as a protein bowl, so no bun and all the veggies. Their fries are good and the beer battered onion rings are dope! They had wine, bottled and canned beer plus some on tap.

Omg you've got to try this place! First, you've got to see that menu, it is astounding. You'll definitely find something for everyone. The apps are over the top deliciousness, the craft burgers and salads are amazing. This is one of those places where everything coming out of the kitchen is awesome. The cook staff came out to say hi and the servers were sweet and friendly. Place is so cute, like your favorite corner sports bar / sandwich shop you never knew you had - My whole family loved it.
