I got to visit this excellent little shop hidden in the Canon building while on a family trip to DC. This might be one of the best coffee shops in the country. They feature multiple top tier roasters that can be had as espresso or pour over in addition to their daily featured coffees for drip/espresso and top tier equipment to go along with the great selections. The quality of the equipment and beans aren’t wasted here. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and executes every method of coffee preparation flawlessly. They are very eager to discuss and educate you on their offerings even if they’re busy. It’s very rare to find a shop that cares as much as they do to provide an excellent product and customer experience. I wish I lived close by - I’d come all the time.

Was feeling the drag today and needed a really solid hit of caffeine - these guys really deliver, hot damn. It’s through basic security in the Cannon building and up the stairs, but 1000000% worth it. Great offering of featured roasters that make taking a minute for a real pour over totally worth it. Awesome presentation and experience. Not too much seating and my favorite roaster was out, but I’ll be back for it next time :)

I had a flat white from someone who actually knew what a flat white was! It was amazing! Top notch! When I travel, I love to try out new coffee shops. However, I discriminate heavily. I love Onyx from Arkansas. I love Methodical from South Carolina, Eiland I’m Richardson, TX is also great. Intelligencia (the one on Randolph St) in Chicago is great! All of these places have something in common - the baristas know how to treat the beans well. They know what they’re doing. And now, this coffee shop in the Cannon House Office Bldg is now on this list! I did not except this! The staff there are amazing! The owner was there making drinks with the workers. You could tell they all took pride in serving great coffee and tea. it was genuinely one of the best flat whites that I’ve ever had ❤️

Excellent coffeeshop offering Onyx, Native, and a handful of other roasters. The new space in 220 is gorgeous - large windows so full of light, a few spaces to sit at the bar, and lovely baristas who do the craft well. I'll be back often, and am super looking forward to the rest of the space opening up!

For quality coffee, including exclusive pour overs, walk into the Cannon Building. In between U.S. Representatives' offices is a third wave, local coffee shop with a small bar with four seats, exposed brick, and a noteworthy menu. The staff are friendly and know how to create an experience. If lattes are your thing, they have seasonal ones. If you love pour overs, they have a book full of ones, including a few funky ones with melon and other interesting flavors. Yes, many staffers frequent this shop, but anyone can go through security and get a good cup of coffee.
