Bittersweet Pastry Shop & Cafe is an absolute gem! The place feels charming and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Their pastries are beautifully made — fresh, light, and full of flavor. I especially love their cakes and coffee; everything tastes like it’s made with real care and high-quality ingredients. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet morning or catch up with friends over something sweet. Definitely one of my favorite cafes in the city!

We had the best experience with this bakery from start to finish for our wedding cake. Our tasting was incredible. Every option was so flavorful, moist, and unique that choosing just one was the hardest part! They brought our vision to life with a stunning cutting cake that matched our inspo photos and color scheme perfectly. We ended up choosing a coconut cake with milk chocolate frosting, and it was truly unforgettable. It was so moist and delicious that we happily ate the leftovers for a full week. It was just as good on the last bite as it was on our wedding day. Beyond being talented, the team was warm, professional, and so easy to work with. We’ll definitely be back as regular customers, not just for cakes. Highly recommend!

We chose Bittersweet as the bakery for our wedding cake! We had an intimate wedding only 30 guests, and bittersweet brought our vision of a small cake with vintage piping to life! It was equally gorgeous and delicious! We worked with Samuel for design and flavor selection. He was very kind, helpful, and easy to work with. 10 out 10 experience!

Thoroughly disappointed in Bittersweet after myself and my family both in and out of town has purchased cakes from them for YEARS! I arrive to pick my cake up and it’s not ready at the scheduled time. The cashier @pilsen location says she will “text me when it arrives within 30 minutes” never got a text. I rush back to the other side of town to pick up before the place closed only to find a crap job of the script on the cake like they wrote on it and erased it then wrote it again. I called, they were going to redo the cake and we confirmed pickup at the Belmont location which was out of the way and now an inconvenience for me due to plans on my ACTUAL birthday. I arrive to the Belmont location only for them to tell me the cake was at the Pilsen location which is NOT what we discussed over

Absolutely love this place!!! My go to is always the cinnamon bun and an iced latte. It’s always sunny during the day so it’s the perfect place to relax and read a book. I also recently ordered the vintage heart cake for my best friend’s birthday and it turned out so cute.
