Bistro @ The Porch

We came in for brunch this morning (Sunday) after making reservations… We arrived about 30 mins early for our reservation and they sat us immediately. They weren’t very busy when we got there, maybe about 4 tables sat. The menu looked quite nice, plenty of appetizing dishes to try. Service throughout was the issue though. We read reviews prior to coming here about the service being an issue, but we decided to give them a try anyway and we can say, the reviews are legit, they definitely need to work on service here!!! Bisteo@The Porch!! We absolutely love this place the owner, the staff, the environment. Amazing delicious food options. We have gone here for dinner. We have joined them for a delightful cocktail dinner with local beef and local Gin, vodka, Tequila, bourbon and wine. Shawn the owner is so friendly. The staff from bartender to waitress, waitrers host and kitchen are friendley and make you feel warm and welcomed.

Bistro @ The Porch succeeds in areas that other restaurants usually don’t attempt. There is true art at play in this neighborhood institution. The coordination of: Color Style Art Texture Presentation Personality Dimension Music Pleasantry Lighting and yes, FOOD, have created an appealing palette on many levels for all to enjoy. It is a rare moment when dishes and art and food and even the fabric on the furniture are so well done. My Crispy Chicken on Gouda Pasta was simplistic and yummy — the herbed butter added a visual and tasty touch. My companion’s wedge salad and salmon were a perfect taste and texture contrast with each alternating bite. And then, the soft and sometimes saturated Caribbeanish and cobalt blues blend across the table and the room to create paintings in themselves

The bistro has great food - never had a bad meal here, but the real draw is the cocktails. Hands down the best menu in NOVA - their infusions and syrups they make in house are phenomenal- had their cinnamon whiskey just now and it, like everything else here, was delicious.

We stopped for dinner tonight. We had a delicious bottle of Italian Chianti. I had meatloaf with asparagus and mashed potatoes. My wife had linguine bolognese with garlic bread. Delicious! Excellent server, atmosphere and food. Plan to return asap
