Billy's Famous Roast Beef

I ordered take out and to start finding parking was a bit difficult due to the layout of the lot. When I walked in, the restaurant was clean but definitely looked outdated. The cashier was attentive. My food was not good overall. I ordered fried pickles, clam chowder, and a fried clam belly plate. The fried pickles were the best part of my meal and were average. The clam chowder was not of good quality, it tasted tangy and was gritty. The fried clam plate was the most expensive and worst part of my meal unfortunately. The fried clams were not good, the shoestring fries looked and tasted like something from the grocery freezer aisle, the onion rings were poorly breaded, thin and burnt, and the tartar sauce was unconfined in the takeout container so food fell into it on my drive home and go

I have been a fan of this place of this place since I was a kid and have brought so many friends here over the years. My more recent trips have had a few years between them, but the food is amazing EVERY time. The roast beef really is amazing, especially with "sauce" (I don't accept any other toppings!). There's sauce in EVER bite. I've had roast beef at places closer to me over the years and they just leave me wanting Billy's! The French fries are my absolute favorite too! Staff is always friendly and the customers that sit inside are always a cast of characters.

As a visitor to this area I saw Roast Beef all over the place. My friend took me here for a sandwich to eat at the airport. I got a large from the choice of sizes. And it same with lots of roast beef. After I read about this local culinary treat I realized I should have been brave and gotten the barbeque sauce, mayonaise and cheese. Without it was delicious, but would have been better. They do a brisque business.

Once a hot spot is losing its valor This honestly used to be my go to for a roast beef sandwich. Now I'd rather travel to Liberty or Bella's. The roast beef is chewy now. Lacking sauce, you need packets of ketchup with your meal, bathroom is dirty, you order to sit in and wait for your drink with your meal. I hate to see a fantastic place go, but at this rate I'm fixing them 2 years. I gave more stars because the fish plate is still good.

Great roast beef sandwich! Very friendly and quick service
