Customer Reviews
This is a good BBQ restaurant. You tell from the road as the parking lot is always fun! I stopped by to check it out. The meat is tender and juicy without much seasoning so you can use a variety of their sauces! The sides are excellent! The greens were perfect, good flavor and not over cooked! The fried okra was crunchy and delicious! The key lime pie was good - sweet but tart - perfect in my opinion! Highly recommended!!
Nice staff, clean, warm atmosphere, the food super good yes indeed! The food came real fast! A family friendly location. A great place to film movies! I did also see Netflix Production business on the wall! 10/10
Y’all, if you love country cooking & BBQ, this is YOUR place! We’ve gotten their catering before, so we have tried almost everything on their menu. There is nothing that was less than excellent. When you see a lot of old-timers eating there, (as is always there) you KNOW it’s gonna be good. My favorite is their smoked turkey, fried okra, sweet potato fries & cornbread. Their okra reminds me of how my grandmother fixed it-yummy! Their banana pudding is pretty dang good too. The portions are big-I usually have leftovers, as I did today. Make sure you use your map because it’s easy to drive right by it if you’re headed north. You have 6 choices of sauce on the table (they are for sale by the bottle also).
The restaurant has a clean and inviting environment but that's where the good news stops. The redneck lasagna is a great compilation but the presentation of having a moderately sized Styrofoam cup stuffed with Mac n Cheese and stew crushed down with a lid is more insulting than eye pleasing. The $3 drinks come in a small Styrofoam cup with 70% ice cubes and two cups of whatever you hoped to drink. In fairness, if you eat there you can get free refills from am unhappy girl behind the counter. The staff couldn't answer a few of our questions but thank God the ingredients were on the sides of bottles when it comes to sauces. Be warned if you have seafood allergies, we found anchovy paste in all but one of the sauces. The salads are NOT worth the $16 and the chicken meat was dry. Worse was
Between the four of us, we had the Brunswick stew, ribs, sausage, brisket, okra, greens, and more. Always cooked well and very flavorful, great barbecue. Due to its popularity, it’s generally crowded, but you have three options to eat inside, to eat outside or to drive through and pick up. The dining room was neat, cleaned, and well taken care of. The weight staff was prompt and friendly. Overall, a great experience. As an older citizen with a bad back, I just wished there was a little more padding on the chairs.
