Customer Reviews
Overall tasty and a great addition to Wicker. The Xiaolongboa and Mandoo dumplings are the main events but the eggplant was my favorite dish of the meal and will get that every time we come back here. Also a shout out to the lamb as it was a great balance of spicy, sweet and savory. This is a great spot for a date night or family night and very good with a bigger group as all of the dishes are very shareable.
A very nice spot with some hit and misses on the menu, and slow-ish service. The really good- soup dumplings, rosemary guobaorou and the bitter orange tiramisu. All were interesting, really tasty and well prepared. The misses (good, but I kinda expected more)- ojingeo ceviche was a bit too sweet for my taste and the flat iron stake salteado was just... boring? I would go back to try more things, but only if I'm in the area again.
If Bigsuda has been on your radar to try out for Asian, please go check them out! We walked right in near close hour on a slower weekday, and got seated immediately. Ordered the pan seared beef and pork mandoo and Jeju Island dombe guksu—it was hearty, generous portioned and different! With such an extensive menu and great first experience, I am curious to try out their other entrees. Our waiter, Abraham, was not only helpful by offering his honest opinion on dishes we were deliberating between, but he was very humble and appreciative of his guests. He is very sweet and made our visit memorable.
We tried Bugsuda in Wicker Park and overall had a great experience with the food. The cabbage tofu pocket was surprisingly delicious and such a good start. I ordered the dombe guksu with crispy golden fried chicken thigh. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the chicken was flavorful and crisp, and the broth was rich and tasty—though I did find it getting saltier the more I ate. My partner had the gaji twigim with a side of rice, and it was excellent. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, the sauce was packed with flavor, and pairing it with rice made it even better. The interior of the restaurant is pretty and has a nice vibe. Service was on the slower side. When we checked in, the server handed us menus and pointed to where to sit instead of walking us over. It wasn’t a big deal for us, but
Excellent buns and a great menu that's easily shared with a partner. Price to quality and quantity was very good. Especially loved the soup buns and fried rice that we got. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely would consider returning to try more things! Mood was Definitely on the moon
