Big Sergio's Pizza & Catering

Now I could easily just type: This place has the best New York style pizza in all of Apex, NC, but I feel like saying that just isn't enough and doesn't seem legit or believable considering that statement is literally littered across so many other reviews of pizza places. This place is very, very good! And I highly recommend their pizza as it tastes very similar to New York pizza (I'm comparing this to the Bronx, NY). So let me break this down. The pizza itself is delicious with a nice dough and fairly thick crust (not too thick, not too thin, just the right balance). I would suggest you ask them how you would like it cooked, as that's what we have done and they have almost never missed! Ordered steak mushroom onion stromboli cause my teenager don't like ricotta on calzone, also ordered turkey sub- turkey sub burnt n roll was like croutons so hard and we didn't ask for it toasted, and got home to Lillington- cut into stromboli only to find it burnt black on bottom n with inside not cooked n doughy n not cooked hard onions also it had ricotta in it, so couldnt eat either one. Usually very good place to get takeout, hopefully whoever working grill learns not burn everything..pics attached.

We ordered two pizzas which ended up being approximately $38. It used to be approximately $34. We used to order from here a lot. The last couple times we ordered the quality of their pizza, has gone downhill dramatically. The last time we ordered, the bottom of the pizza was burnt in some spots, and then almost raw and other spots. This time the two topping pepperoni mushroom pizza. When my husband inspected the box in the store, he noted that it only had an it only had about half the amount of toppings that it normally would have had. The mushrooms were very sparse and definitely did not cover the whole pizza. I would say they didn’t even cover 3/4 of the pizza. I have been a loyal customer of Big Sergio Pizza in Apex, NC for many years, and I’ve always considered their products among the best in the Apex area. Unfortunately, my last visit was very disappointing and even concerning. My wife, my son, and I arrived and placed our order. We were not informed about the waiting time, and since there was only one person waiting, we assumed it wouldn’t take long. However, it ended up taking around 40 minutes. After about 30 minutes, my wife asked about our order and was told it would be ready soon. A few minutes later, I went to check again, and one of the employees told me the pizzas were still in the oven and that I needed to wait. Big Sergio’s has been a great supporter of Apex High, and delivers (lots of!) delicious pizza on time. The service is friendly and very helpful, and the food is so good! Highly recommend!
