Big Mike's BBQ Smokehouse

The Carolina pulled pork sandwich was fantastic. Loved the green beans! My granddaughter, who loves chicken wings, was not fond of the Jamaican jerk wings. She thought they tasted burnt but didn't want to complain or return them so she peeled off the skin and ate only the meat. Live music was great and staff members were friendly. Only got 1 picture cause I didn't think about it before diving into the food.

I thought the turkey was very tender and flavorful. The chicken leg quarters was very smokey and seasoned really well. The brisket is okay. The few issues I had with the brisket was the bark wasn't seasoned really well and there were some times I ordered some brisket and it tasted like it was either dry or over cooked. One more complain is the sweet potato pie. It was really awful. It did not taste like it was made with sweet potatoes at all. It tasted like a custard pie with a light artificial sweet potato flavoring. I wouldn't recommend it at all. If people would taste it they would agree. But the sides and the complimentary slice of bread to go with it was pretty good. I'm not a fan of tangy barbecue sauce but the sauce was just okay at best. Awesome every single time! This place truly is one of the best BBQ places in southern Louisiana. Portions are huge, the meat is cooked low and slow, the environment is so welcoming, and the menu covers something for everyone. What is there not to love. Big Mike’s is a must try. Never disappointed.

I usually order curbside or I go in to pick it up. But when I go in it seems to be a nice atmosphere. Sometimes it can be a little loud. They will have the music or a band playing and it can get loud. Many people probably like it that way

Big Mike’s is the place to get BBQ in South Louisiana. Atmosphere was great when you walk in. It was our first time there and everyone was so friendly. You order at a counter and then the food is delivered to your table. The staff were very helpful when asking about items on the menu. I had the 1/2 rack ribs with mac’n cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. They ribs were tender with tons of flavor. They had the right about of sauce on them for me with a couple great sauces at the table to use. The mac’n cheese and mashed potatoes were amazing. My friend had a brisket sandwich that he really enjoyed. There is a nice bar and plenty of seating inside. There is also a large patio as well. Great place, great food and great service.
