Big Finish Wine Tavern

My very pregnant best friend is turning 40, and we were on the hunt for a chill, comfortable dinner spot in the Mission that still felt special. Big Finish Wine Tavern understood the assignment. Making a reservation online was seamless. I was initially intrigued by the advertised "$7 x 7" happy hour... which, unfortunately, does not exist. The only $7 item available was a pimento cheese dip that, frankly, was disgusting and didn't measure up to the quality of any of the items on the regular menu. It might be time to retire that sign. A wonderful find. The pork chop is killer. The wine choices are well thought and easy to pair with the food. It was Busy and having reservations doesn't mean your table will be waiting, it is a small venue. It is worth the wait tho. Trekkies will enjoy this place as well.

Great food, drinks and service! We got the chicory salad, pork chop, pappardelle, mocktail and soda. Everything was delicious and portions were well-sized! The service was also great. I would highly recommend! Looking forward to coming back to try other menu items.

We really enjoyed our meal here! We got the pork chop and the steak and both were really good, and a good value. The menu is small but has good variety. The space is also small but cozy and nicely decorated. Will definitely be returning!

The food is world class. The pork chop and risotto were each one of the best, if not best, versions of the dish I’ve eaten anywhere. And the steak with peppercorn sauce - a special I hope makes it to the full-time menu - is the top contender for the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. It was so good I got chills. And that’s with high expectations to begin with. The date cake and meatballs are other memorable stand outs. The staff is extraordinarily helpful + friendly and create a casual, social atmosphere you’d expect more from a dive bar than an upscale restaurant serving this calibre of food.
