Big Boys BBQ

I visited on Jan 2nd 2021 @ about 11:30 am. The service was great and I even smelled BBQ smoke when I entered the building. When I want BBQ "I want BBQ"!!!! Sadly what I got was seemingly boiled meat that was placed in the pit after it was done. The three stars is for the service.. not the food. Sorry, but I don't see smoke rings tho.

I like to stop and try BBQ all over the country when I'm traveling. Stopped here because it had a 4.4 Google review which is pretty good. Ordered a chopped beef sandwich. My friend ordered sliced brisket and sides. The meat seemed to have been cooked days before and was reheated, dry and not fresh. Smoke flavor almost non existent, no smoke ring on the meat. Idk what kind of sauce they are using but it's not good at all. The sides served may be store bought and reheated. There was no fire in the pit outside that's literally laying on the ground. Can't see the kitchen on the inside so who knows what they are doing in there but this was the worst BBQ I've had in 41 years. I consider myself to be very competent on a wood fired smoker. Stopped in for lunch for the first time. Service was great and the food was delicious and plentiful.

I tried the combo sandwich, and it was excellent. Both brisket and sausage on it were great. Service was good and the food came out fast. Price was very reasonable. I live too far to become a regular customer, but I would if I lived in Rockdale.

Checked this place out on the way home from the gym to get some protein in my system. I ordered something called the stack bowl and let me tell you, this was so tasty and will be my new go to for BBQ! The service was great and the owner was super friendly. If you have any doubts, leave em at the door because this place is 🔥🔥🔥
