Beverly J Brown Library

I have never been in a library more poorly run than this one. Yes it’s convenient since I live in Byram, but to be honest I’d rather go to the Clinton library where there are more books to chose from, but the staff is less than desirable there too. Some of the staff here act like they don’t want to get books from other libraries (ILL), and here I thought libraries were supposed to work with customers 🤔. The library in Madison, MS is the best library I have ever been to, unfortunately I no longer live in Madison. Don’t call the Byram library to renew either. They’ll act like they don’t want to do it for you, especially if it’s a family member, unless you have that persons library card on you.

The two black ladies at the desk are always rude. They don't greet you, and then when you ask something they have an attitude. The one who sits closest to the computers not located by the door is the rudest. I try to avoid her at all cost. The only reason I use this library is because I live in byram, but I might start using the one in Terry or Florence if the customer service is better.

They kick you out 15 mins early before lunch and up to 30 mins early before close of business. Called around; the other locations close at the posted times. An elderly woman was being dropped off when we were being kicked out. Her ride left and she was stuck outside until they returned. Lunch at noon means noon, not announcing at 11:30 that you're shutting the computers down in 15 mins and y'all have to leave. Not Cool!

Always been nice. Smaller locations but always been willing to help. The manger of the location took her time and help me pick out some good reading books for my son and my daughters

I called 30 minutes before they closed and the phone just rang and rang. I called again and someone picked up then hung up without saying hello. I drove there and it was 20 minutes before they were suppose to close and nobody was there. If this is how this library is run I'll go somewhere else.
