Stopped by Bethesda Bagels at Cabin John Mall recently and it absolutely lived up to the hype — this is a great bagel spot. What makes a good bagel, in my opinion, is texture and balance, and they really nail it here. The bagels have that perfect chew you expect, with a slightly crisp exterior and a soft, dense interior that holds up well to fillings without getting soggy. You can tell they’re fresh and properly made — not overly bready or fluffy like many places. I ordered the nova with chive cream cheese, which was excellent. The bagel paired perfectly with the creamy, flavorful spread, and everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel, and it was exactly what you want from a classic breakfast sandwich — hearty, satisfying, and ma
This is a new location for Bethesda Bagels and has soon become a local favorite. The place is always busy and the staff is friendly and helpful! They have a good selection of freshly made bagels and many options for cream cheese and toppings. We have tried many of the bagel flavors and have liked all of them. They also have many options for bagel sandwiches which are generous is portion size. Definitely a welcome addition to the area!
I’ve gotten bagels at this location around 3 times now. It’s a bagel, and that’s about it. Well constructed and doesn’t fall apart. Taste is pretty much just a bagel. Biggest issue is that every time I order either an everything bagel or jalapeño cheddar, and I always end up with a plain bagel… Check your bagels before heading out of the store! Edit: I’ve been to the old georgetown location a good number of times and they’re always great. Would recommend that location over this one currently if you don’t mind a bit of an extra drive.
One of the few times I don't feel slightly ripped off, the bagel was large with a well built shell and soft interior. The sandwich itself was well executed, and decently stuffed.
I used to go occassionally to the location in Wildwood, and while the food/bagels and service were always excellent, I never went out of my way to go there as the tiny location and elbow to elbow waiting was truly unpleasant. Que the opening of the Cabin John location... The Cabin John location adds lots of space, tables to eat at, and happens to be pretty much across the street from me. It's become a regular Saturday breakfast pickup as I stop by after my workout. I've considered going more often but I need to eat something other than bagels. Everything I've tried - as I work my way down the menu - has been at least very good. From bagels and cream cheese to breakfast sandwiches (the smoked whitefish is outstanding), I look forward to every Saturday order. I wouldn't say the food is che
