We went here on a Tuesday night and it was very low-key and not busy at all, which made for a relaxed evening. The service was great from start to finish. We began at the bar for happy hour drinks and appetizers (happy hour is bar-only). The drinks were excellent and reasonably priced. The appetizers were okay — the lamb meatballs were a hit, but the fries weren’t very crispy and some items tasted like they may have been reheated rather than made fresh. We then moved to a table for dinner. The bread and oil were delicious. For our mains, the fish was excellent and the cabbage wedge was also very good. We so enjoyed our experience at Besa. The atmosphere is modern, but warm and cozy, and the food and drinks were fantastic from start to finish. Our server Claire made wonderful recommendations, was attentive and kind and really helped make the evening great. The iberico secreto and Mille Feuille were highlights! The care and intention that has gone into the menu is evident, and we will definitely be revisiting Besa for more evenings out.

BESA is the one place you have to eat at if you can only eat at one place in Detroit. The food, drinks, and guest service is top notch around this place. When you walk in you feel like a millionaire. Claire was our waitress for this night and it was one of the most pleasant nights possible. She took time to learn about us and ask questions about us. We also got to learn about her and enjoyed having a connection with her. My wife and I can't wait to come back to BESA again for another date night.
