Corrupt staff. The public defender here is so sneaky, she does not help anyone who doesn’t look like her. She is supposed to be defending my child, but she’s trying to destroy my family for some reason. I have called and left several messages to try to obtain a different public defender for my child or at least get in touch with this person‘s supervisor, I have learned today that after at least 30 calls in messages, the person never put any notes in the system, nor does she ever pass my message along. They cover for each other, despite engaging in criminal activity, falsifying, documents, and records and who knows what else. The Berkeley County public defender office needs to be shut down indefinitely until they are able to obtain staff who are knowledgeable, and can treat each and every p

I called to arrange a meeting for services for my niece. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. After informing her that my mother was hard of hearing and had asked me to call in her behalf, the woman became hostile, refusing to speak with me, even with verbal permission. It's pretty sad that this office makes no accommodation for someone who has a disability.

The people who answer phones are rude and know nothing other than to lie and tell you the lawyer is in court. No way is he in court monday through friday 9-5!! He never even tried to defend my son and he never returned my calls. It will be interesting to find out how many have been wronged by this agency and their fake concern. How can you deny someone their constitutional right to face their accuser??

The worst service ever. Bert Driggers has sent numerous letters to see Mrs tolley I've gone up there myself and said something, gave her letters and called and 6 months later still nothing. No phone calls or anything. He has stuff to tell her about the case and she refuses to get ahold of him.

My life was turned upside down last September over a mess. The ladies in this office have done everything to help me though this difficult time. The attorney I was appointed has been the BEST...! All you have to do is make sure you get your paperwork straight and get it submitted...They will help you
