Benny's Tacos & Rotisserie Chicken in Santa Monica

We have been walking by this place for weeks, and tonight we finally decided we were gonna stop in. We always notice that there's a line of people out front, and we figured we would just check it out. My wife and I were not that hungry, but we figured we'd try their chicken burrito. Wow!!!. We were thoroughly impressed. The burrito was thoroughly hot all the way through, and all the ingredients tasted really, really fresh and good. I would have to say it's one of the best burritos I have had in a very long time, and my wife agreed. My wife is not a big Mexican food lover, but she definitely enjoyed that burrito. The place is clean, the people are nice, and the food comes out pretty fast. Food quality is extremely good and that's what's most important..

When we visit Santa Monica we always try to stop at Benny’s Tacos. It’s nothing fancy, but the tacos are fantastic! I love the barbacoa tacos, and my wife loves the chicken. They have a nice patio overlooking Wilshire Boulevard. Be sure to grab extra napkins!

Benny's: A Rip-Off for Soggy Fries 👎 ​I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Benny's today. ​Portion Shrinkage: They've condensed the side-fry container but kept the same high price, you're getting less for your money. ​Sauce Tax: Want an extra Chipotle sauce? That'll be $0.97, even for a pricey order. ​Quality: The fries were soggy, tasteless and not worth the money. ​You essentially pay around $6.50 for a small, sad side of mediocre, soggy fries. Total rip-off.

The food here is phenomenal. I always look for a good place for shrimp tacos wherever I travel, and this place rates in my top five . Their homemade churros are also delicious. Note: I switched out the lettuce for cabbage and the pineapple sauce with pico de Halle. This is something I do for every shrimp tacos wherever I eat. Thank you Benny’s!

I typically go to Reddi Chick Rotisserie at the Brentwood Country Mart (5-10 minutes away) but they were closed today and I decided to give this place a chance which was unfortunately a mistake. Similar to another review left three weeks ago the french fries I received made fresh to order we both warm and soggy, as if they have been made previously and kept warm rather than freshly fried. When I drove all the way back to get a fresh order of fries, one of the employees told me that I should expect them to be soggy, considering the fact that they were in a cardboard container which they had been in for no more than seven minutes.
