A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. Overall, we would give this place a very low rating for the entire experience. For it being our first visit, we were 100% disappointed. We went on Monday at 1:45 pm. Food We ordered the $29 duet, which included soup or salad, rice, two meats, and vegetables. I received about four small scallops, five shrimp, and a very small portion of vegetables. The cook was not friendly or interactive, which made the experience awkward. The food was not very tasty and was saltier than usual according to regulars. I had to ask for eel sauce and spicy mayo to improve the taste. The cooking order was uneven, with seafood served first and getting cold while we waited for rice, meats, and vegetables. Overall, the portion sizes and food quality were very underwhelming. Service Th
Wow I had such an amazing experience at the short hills Benihana. It was a great way to spend New Year’s Eve Eve. Food: obviously you can’t go in expecting authentic food, Benihana is more of an experience rather than traditional execution and the experience was magnificent. I think in terms of flavour it was lacking just a bit however I still found it pretty good. I think the drinks were pretty excellent. I tried the yakisoba and sushi lobster roll. I would recommend the yakisoba over the lobster roll in terms of getting more bang for your buck. Service and atmosphere: Everyone is so incredibly nice and the chef was so funny. I think his name was Jayron. In terms of atmosphere even though there were quite a bit of people I didn’t find it overly loud at all.
We had such a great experience! Our dad was the "Be the Chef" on a busy Monday evening, we had Sindy as our server. We had a large group of 2 tables for everyone to watch the show. She was very, very, very patient with us and attentive. We had some little kiddos at the tables and she was including them in everything, food, ordering, etc. The food was great! The chef that trained my dad was a super nice and friendly guy, as well and helped with the show.
We went for our first Japanese hibachi experience. The atmosphere was pretty loud and unique. It’s a great first time experience to visit an authentic Japanese restaurant. The quality of the food was pretty good especially the stake. highly recommended for one time experience .the price was high though.
Mairon was an amazing chef! He cooked all of our meals perfectly and made the whole experience so enjoyable. I highly recommend Benihana, and if you can request Mairon as your chef, you’re guaranteed to have the best food and experience.”
