Benihana - Fort Lauderdale

My wife and I had a very disappointing experience at Benihana, made even worse by the fact that it was my birthday. We had a reservation for 4:45 p.m. last Thursday, yet we still waited about 15 minutes at the front before a hostess finally seated us. After that, we sat at the table for another 15 minutes before a server even came over. For a birthday reservation, this already felt careless. When the server did show up, he did not know whether we could use the free starter in the Benihana app and never bothered to come back with an answer. On top of that, they did not start our dinner until around 5:30 p.m. because they were waiting for other customers to fill the table, even though we had arrived on time and had a reservation specifically for my birthday. Benihana was running over an hour behind on our 8:15 reservation. When we asked about the delay, the hostess was rude and dismissive. The bar and entry area were visibly dirty, which added to the poor first impression. Valet was also unprofessional — we sat parked for several minutes while the attendant stood there waiting for a tip before even acknowledging us. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating from start to finish. I’m surprised they are still accepting reservations on OpenTable. I would not recommend booking here.

I made a 9:45 PM Valentine’s Day reservation and still had one of the most disorganized dining experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived early (around 9:40 PM) but couldn’t even get inside until about 10:00 PM because valet was the only parking option and there was a line down the block. The valet process was chaotic and poorly managed from the start. When we finally got inside, the situation didn’t improve. The hostess was extremely rude, yelling at guests and creating an uncomfortable, tense environment instead of helping manage the crowd professionally. Very slow service, do not come hungry bc you will need to wait. Waited over 30 minutes to get our drinks, an hour for our soup and salads. Wait time is always long. Will not be coming back. To top it off I got mold on my tomato! Walked out! Horrible experience

This Benihana is usually my favorite location I pass multiple locations to dine at this one but 3/4/26 was horrible dining experience... which I felt bad about because I bragged about this location only to be embarrassed in front of my guest! First of All after being seated and drink and food order was took the drinks didn't arrive till over 1hr 1/2 later... this is Not an exaggeration! Literally had to call the waitress Heidy over and ask her did she forget us, upon her coming back to the table with our drinks she had to RETAKE the whole tables order because somehow she messed up the order! When I asked one of the associates to speak to management they said ok and never got the manager... another associate came over, that one got management... when he came to our table I asked were they s
