This classic old-style pub is located inside the Benbow Inn and offers satisfying salads, burgers, and the like in a beautiful setting. For those who value saving old buildings and architecture, this place is a delightful piece of history. We enjoyed this return visit and marveled at the love and effort being invested into preserving this 100 year old institution and helping it to thrive.

We had a lovely dinner last night. I had coq au vin and she had an eggplant dish. The entrees were fantastic. We saw lots of other great looking dishes being served around us to the rather casually dressed patrons. Service was pleasant and attentive, and we had nice cocktails from the bar. This AM (Sunday) I went for brunch (8AM - 1PM), in which one orders one of the rather normal breakfast items. I was quite alone at 845! I ordered a 2-egg scramble, and requested fruit substituted for potatoes, and got a lovely fruit bowl of fresh, appetizing berries and banana slices. The only issue was the rather young staff had trouble bringing butter, coffee, and pepper to the table. It didn't ruin the meal, just a little annoying. In1993 my husband and I stayed there for our Anniversary. They had wonderful rooms. A canister of sherry waiting for us in our room. Books we could take home and send back when we were done. Bicycles to borrow and ride along the property. We had to dress for dinner, so we ate somewhere else. But all in all, it was a memory we'll never forget.
