Becky's & Mary's Restaurant

I went to Becky's and Mary's Restaurant today for lunch. I was so impressed that I had to write a review immediately upon getting home. Mary was working in the kitchen and in addition to the meals my friend and I had, she wanted us to try a few other things she made that day. We ended up getting the fried chicken and collard greens for me, the pork chops and potato salad for my friend, and a sample of the mixed vegetables and chicken and dumplings. Everything we had was seasoned and cooked perfectly! In addition, the service was top notch. Every employee that we saw smiled at us and made us feel welcome. Get yourself to Becky's and Mary's. You won't regret it.

I went in on a Saturday afternoon with my family and we had a pretty good experience overall. The place has that classic soul food vibe, nothing fancy but comfortable. I ordered the fried catfish with mac and cheese and collard greens. The catfish was crispy and seasoned well, and the greens had a nice smoky flavor. Mac and cheese was creamy, maybe just a little salty but still good. Portions were fair for the price. Service was friendly and they checked on us a couple times. It did take a bit for the food to come out, but everything tasted fresh so I didn’t mind much. I’d come back again.

I was very disappointed when I ordered porkchop. Picture below, I have no idea what type of porkchop that was? It was very bland no soul in it at all. My husband got chicken no season to it either. Cornbread tasted like it was made from a rustic pan. I will say the yams were good.

Hard to beat this food and the price. It's just good old-fashioned food, well seasoned and tasty. I've had the meatloaf, pork chops, potato salad, mac and cheese. I've tasted the chicken and dumplings and mixed vegs. Everything was delicious. And the people are so incredibly nice! Go--no disappointments here. Menu changes daily, There's a reason they have won "Best Soul Food" in High Point.

Stopped in this morning to try out breakfast. Delicious 😋! I had the pancakes with eggs and bacon. The staff is true southerners. I love this restaurant. It's like eating at your Granny's table. I'll definitely be back!
