We stopped in for lunch and ordered two 1 meat plates. One had ribs, potato salad, and chips. The ribs were pretty good, not a ton of meat on them, and the potato salad has good flavor but you can barely get any potatoes in there. It is more like a mashed potato salad. The second 1 meat plate had brisket (which costs an extra $3), beans, and chips. If I’m paying $3 more on top of $12.49 I’d like to at least have more than a few bites of meat. They definitely skimp out on giving you enough food for how much you’re paying.
We eat here every time we come to town to fish at the state park. It is always good, and the food did not disappoint this time. We had the burgers this round and they were made to perfection.
Would I return: Yes. We were promptly greeted with a kind face! My friend ordered a regular cheese burger & fries; he said his was quite good. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. Dislikes: the bun was not warmed; the meat was served cool or like room temperature; it was not hot or reheated or anything of that nature. That was a big disappointment! What was nice about this por sandwich, was the portion size was quite descent, it was nice meat, not lots of fatty meat, and the price was fair IMO.
Service was great and food was served fast. I ordered the one meat plate with brisket, which cost extra, and for the two sides chose potato salad and a side salad. The meat was room temperature and didn't have any flavor other than the smoke, which was disappointing. The potato salad was heavy with what I'm guessing was cream and cheese. It was okay, but I should of chose something lighter to go with the meat. The side salad was good and they had good ranch. For desert I had a blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Desert was pretty standard, nothing to write home about. I don't believe the brisket was good enough to deserve the extra charge, as the texture was closer to a roast and the flavor was mediocre. I do plan on going back to try their chicken but wasn't impressed with the foo
BBQ Station always has the best brisket, pulled pork, bbq chicken, and ribs. The brisket is the best meat option, and the potato salad is the best side. The potato salad contains both meat and dairy. If you are a vegan entertaining this restaurant the options are few as the beans are cooked with butter. They could have used some sunflower seeds or more vegetable protein. I ordered a salad with no cheese, no meat, and no croutons. I sprinkled some tater tots on there to omit as much gluten as possible and ordered the dairy free dressing Raspberry vinaigrette. Baked potato could have also been used to make the salad more hearty. I also found some superb sweet zucchini relish by Blackberry Hill Farms to sprinkle on top. During these Alpha-gal tick season summer times it was nice to feel like
