Bay Island Cafe

Came here for lunch with family and it was busy inside when we went. The store isn't that big and there aren't that many tables so it's a more homey style place. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long for table. We ordered the French Style Stir Fry Beef, Pea Shoots, Honey Garlic Pork Chop, Fried Egg Tofu w/ Mushrooms and Veggies, and Braised Pork w/ Aged Vegetables. We also ordered the Honey Lemon Iced Tea because it only costs $2.50 for a very large cup and comes with refills! So worth! The dishes didn't take too long to be served and comes with white rice for free. We liked all the dishes except the Braised Pork because it was tough to chew and a bit dry. The other dishes were all very good, seasoned well, and not salty. They tasted very good with some rice. The Pork Chop w/ Honey Garlic

Very fast service with delious food. The problem is hard to get a spot in rush hours. Businesses are strong but parking area is too small. Recommended someone go to restaurant first to get a place while driver looking for a place to park.

Delicious, old-school Hong Kong–style restaurant in LA. Prices are more than reasonable—so glad places like this still exist.

Worse service ever!!! I ordered the black sesame latte in the beginning with the order. They gave it to me by the end of the meal. I asked them I want a refund. In the end, they already made it but left it on the counter for long ago. When I asked for a check, the lady just left the check and walk away with attitude. The lady with glasses is so rude and with attitude. What is this. What kind of service is this. This is unacceptable. The food is cold too when it’s out. I can’t believe this. I told them about it and they don’t even care. What kind of restaurant is this. With bad service and bad food. Never come back again.

Upon entering the restaurant, no one acknowledged us. When we tried to place our order, we were still ignored. Throughout this time, the staff appeared to have a habit of looking down while working. Even when someone was facing me directly, turning around in front of me, or walking out from the back, no one noticed me—even as I raised my hand straight high and waved repeatedly to get attention. While we were dining, the floor was being mopped by a cleaning staff using a cleaning solution with an extremely strong chemical smell. Even though we were seated far away, we were still forced to eat while breathing in the fumes, which was very uncomfortable.
