Bates Fish Market

All of my food was seasoned great. I love the temperature and batter of the shrimp. My whitting was seasoned good but be very aware of bones as filets had a lot of bones. The catfish was fried perfectly.

I use to eat from here many years ago and the food was delicious. I'm not sure if the business has been sold/ under new management but it was terrible. Sadly, I will not be back.

I was completely disappointed... it's been well over 7yrs since I've been to Bates, the fish market that I usually go to closed for the night so I remembered Bates was near. Big mistake! I ordered fried shrimp and a side (hushpuppies) once I get there the guy hands me an order of grilled shrimp, ok I'll take it (1 cause I was ready to drive home, 2 grilled is always better than fried (weight wise) but in the back of my mind I really wanted fried food. The young man offered a free drink and no charge for the grilled shrimp ($1.00 for grilled) the jumbo shrimp looked more like medium and for the price of $14.00 I only received 10 shrimp. Yeah I'm good Bates... I won't be back!

If you ok with the noise, the smoking outside because of the barber shop next door rolling up Gunga you'll be fine outher than that the fish at to bad try it for your self.

Great tasting food shrimps are awesome along with the options on how you would like your fish cooked. Good service
