Base Camp

This place is in transition. The owner is working very hard to make it kid friendly, and a wonderful place to come spend some time. Currently the dining area is small, but warmed by a wood stove. The food is good and the server is very friendly.

Loved this homey bar and grill . Linda our server brought water as soon as we sat down. The fish and chips ,salad and smash burgers were wonderful . The smoky fragrance from the wood fire created a comfortable cozy experience,

I’m biased. I’ve loved Riggins for years and I love unpretentious local hole-in-the-walls (and I mean that in the best way possible). My gal and me were walking through an empty Main Street and found Bill on the front porch deep frying three thanksgiving turkeys. He invited us to join the gang inside for a holiday dinner. Mike, the owner, was one very funny dude and mixes a great cocktail. We made many friends that night and we will be back whenever we pass through on our rafting adventures. The regular menu? No clue. We were there to dine on the culture and they are building a culture that reflects the people of that little town. My kind of place. My kind of people.

I got the carne asada street tacos. They were well made, and delicious. Simple. Flavorful.

Base Camp is such an amazing place to stop for a great meal whether you’re a local or a visitor. The food is fantastic and the service was five star all the way. I wish every restaurant was lucky enough to have a server like Linda. She was so sweet and friendly. Had our drinks out promptly and made our experience there quite memorable. BRAVO!!!
