My husband and I are obsessed with this place. Best baked goods in Tacoma hands down (even better than Wren’s nest and Corina!). They use sourdough but it doesn’t taste very sour; it just tastes QUALITY. You can tell they actually deeply care about what they are baking. My favorite the past few times has been their concha (Mexican sweet bread roll with cookie crumb layer on the outside). It’s the perfect crunch followed by spongy melt in your mouth goodness. The prices are fair, though not cheap. We can easily spend 50 dollars getting 4-6 pastries, but it’s worth it. Note: this is not a sit down place. It’s a walk up stand and can have a bit of a line. But, it’s honestly lovely to wait in line ogling at all of the pastries in the window, and then walk away with your little bag of delights
Loved the basque cheesecake, sourdough chocolate chip cookie, and honestly everything. I appreciate that the pastries aren’t overly sweet and very balanced in flavor. You can really taste the quality of ingredients and love that went into them. Bear in mind this was just the soft opening so I’ll definitely be back once they open!
I’ve been dying to stop by here since I heard they opened and I’m so glad I was able to stop by today. Service was amazing the workers or owners were so nice! We got a cheesecake, a fancy French toast and Conchas that were out of this world! You need to try this place out so good!
Take out only bakery! Their basque cheesecake is amazing! Salt bread is ok. I’ve had better one somewhere else. Black sesame bread filled with cream and one with chicken sausage were pretty good too! Their bread is on the little pricey side but worth trying!
So happen to just visit the Tacoma general hospital when suddenly search for a bakery and Basque was the first on the list. So I decided to try them out ..mind you this was Christmas day, they were only doing a holiday box special. I told the lady sure why not give me a box, it never hurts to try something new it's either you like it or not. To my surprise every item pastry goodies in the box was delish it took me, and my boys three days to finish the box but it was worth it. There was 3 items that is not on the picture because we ate them right away. The most pleasant surprise was the pistachio cream in the sourdough bread with some sugary crystals. It was neither too sweet too.
