Barro's Pizza

We ordered from here Saturday night after returning home from a day spent in Tucson. It was late, the kids were hungry, and I wasn't up to cooking. I'd heard great things about Barros and wanted to try it out. We spent $77 on four pizzas and some wings, a bit pricey but we are a family of six. It was supposed to be ready in 25 minutes, which we were ok with since it takes us 15 minutes to drive there from Tortosa anyway. I ended up pulling in about 35-40 minutes after I placed the order. I then went to the counter and waited there for 7 minutes for anyone to acknowledge my existence. I finally got our food and brought it home to find the pizzas were cut terribly. We’ve enjoyed Barro’s Pizza in the past, but my recent order had a green stink bug baked into it, giving the pizza a horrible, rotten taste. While they refunded me and apologized, this is extremely unsanitary and concerning. I won’t be returning. Update: I became sick later into the night after my visit, experiencing vomiting, stomach aches, and nausea. I would be cautious about this location.

Barro's has a really nice-looking restaurant and probably one of the best setups for a pizza spot. The pizza was super thick and filling, but the sauce and texture weren’t my thing. I’d still give them another shot since I heard their thin crust might be better.

Ken Barro would be embarrassed. I wasn’t expecting a gourmet masterpiece, but I did expect something recognizable as pizza. What I got was a floppy, lukewarm disk that apparently defeated the kitchen’s pizza cutter—because it arrived completely uncut. I had to perform my own surgery just to get a slice. The crust had all the charm of damp plywood, and lifting it with one hand was like trying to pick up a wet towel. If this is the house specialty, management might want to double-check that the oven is on—or maybe just reconsider the whole concept. Calling this “pizza” is an impressive stretch of the imagination.

This location is a hit or miss with their food but usually good. Their customer service sucks.Ordered a side of mozzarella sticks and they were mostly all empty. I called and spoke to Manager Dylan who made the excuse that his fry cook is “mentally checked out” which is understandable but shouldn’t be an excuse as he served them like that (cheese exploded all over them) At the end of our conversation he says “I hope you have a better night” which was dumb because I never showed agitation. I guess letting them know something I paid for was inedible and that I would be coming by for a refund was me having a bad day? Sounds like your fry cook needs to have a better night and your company shouldn’t be overworking them so that they could put out quality food and have smiles on their faces when
